PROJECT SCHEDULER

Overview / Responsibilities
The M. Mitchell Group, LLC is currently seeking a Project Planner / Scheduler to join our team. With minimal supervision, the individual at this level is responsible for independently applying advanced project controls, techniques and analyses. This position is related more specifically to Planning and Scheduling responsibilities. Responsible to develop and maintain the master construction schedule with input from the construction contractors, including the following

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Develop and maintain the master construction schedule
  • Develop bid package schedules for RFPs
  • Develop and implement scheduling standards and procedures, including:
    • Construction schedule integration into the Client program schedule
    • Work breakdown structure
    • Scheduling requirements for contractors
    • Schedule update procedures
    • Check and coordinate contractors’ detailed construction schedules
  • Issue schedule reports, including:
    • Summary schedules
    • Look ahead schedules
    • Schedule variance analysis
    • Earned value and productivity reports
  • Provide regular updates for the construction section of the Client master program schedule and schedule reports

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Engineering or Construction related degree preferred, but will consider a Technical college certification or trade background with subsequent experience
  • Advanced knowledge of scheduling strategies and techniques
  • Thorough understanding of construction, contracts and terminology
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in scheduling, proposals, project execution or business development

Design build scheduling experience

SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE:

Primavera P6, Microsoft Projects, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, outlook, and PowerPoint)
SKILLS:

  • Basic knowledge of a specialized or technical field such as accounting, business administration, mechanical, civil, or electrical technology
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; listens and gets clarification
  • Understands business implications of decisions
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
  • Treats people with respect; works with integrity and ethically
  • Assesses own strengths and weaknesses
  • Takes responsibility for own actions; exhibits confidence in self and others
  • Prioritizes and plans work activities; organizes and schedules other people and their tasks

PROJECT MANAGER

Overview / Responsibilities
The M. Mitchell Group, LLC is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our team. With minimal supervision, the individual at this level is responsible for independently applying advanced project controls, techniques and analyses. This position is related more specifically to Managing and Scheduling responsibilities. Responsible to develop and maintain the master construction schedule with input from the construction contractors, including the following

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Budgets and Track Budget Expenses
  • Provide Daily Project Status Reports
  • Making sure the quality standards are met
  • Develop a high-performance team through supervisor
  • Overseeing the accounting, costing and billing
  • Attend project meetings, including progress, pre-construction and pre-award
  • May work with pre-construction team in development of project
  • Foster and enhance owner, architect, subcontractor and vendor relations
  • Manage the quality assurance/quality control program
  • Drive enforcement of safety protocols by the project staff
  • Monitoring sub-contractors to ensure guidelines are maintained
  • Understand and administer The M. Mitchell Group’s contract and subcontract agreements
  • Provide leadership in risk evaluation, contract negotiations, fee and pricing decisions
  • Ensure regular feedback is shared with staff including timely completion of employee performance
  • Establish, update, and communicate Master Project Schedule and manage its implementation
  • Manage budget and financial reporting, interpret and analyze reports to insure adherence to project budget
  • Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements throughout the business unit
  • Drive competencies to team on requirements for insurance, labor relations,and employee relations
  • Review and prepare several construction documents, including but not limited to RFI’s, RFP’s, Transmittals, Submittals, QC inspections, O&M procedures, Attic Stock, Closeout Documents, Safety Inspections, Scheduling, Drawings and Specifications and Tracking Log
  • Manage and oversee field operation and engineering processes and procedures
  • Work with Accounting to initiate pay application process and follow up to ensure payment is received in a timely manner
  • Keep management informed on progress of project and budget through regularly scheduled Operation Review Meetings

Skills / Qualifications

Associate’s degree preferred
Eight years or more equivalent experience

Assesses own strengths and weaknesses

Understands business implications of decisions
Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills

Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner

Basic knowledge of a specialized or technical field such as accounting, construction cost, scheduling, estimating, or purchasing and engineering principles
Excellent oral and written communication skills; listens and gets clarification
Treats people with respect; works with integrity and ethically
Takes responsibility for own actions; exhibits confidence in self and others
Prioritizes and plans work activities; organizes and schedules other people and their tasks
Follows through on commitments; meets productivity standards

Ability to implement leading-edge technologies such as BIM and LEAN to benefit the project

Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
